The sports world is all about signs and birthdates. In baseball, they flash signs. Football has signal callers. Basketball players call plays.
Hockey scouts simply refer to draft-eligible talent by their year of birth. For instance, first-year eligible players for the NHL entry draft will be known as 04s, because they were born in 2004. Sports teams are also known to favor players born earlier in the year, believing that gives them a physical edge over other players in their age group.
There’s another sign that sports recruiters would be wise to study prior to selecting that next player for their team. That would be the player’s sign of the Zodiac. Astrology might not be high on the list of a talent scout’s agenda but perhaps it should be. Clearly, there are signs of the Zodiac that increase the odds of a person born under that sign becoming an elite athlete.
Here’s the signs that make someone a better bet to make a career for themselves in athletics.
Aries (March 21-April 19)
When it comes to training, Aries are self starters. They love to work out and thrive on keeping their bodies in motion. They are willing to try new forms and styles of workout, because they are always striving to push the limits of what they can accomplish or endure. Aries are a competitive bunch. They seek to excel in all that they attempt.
Famous Aries Athletes: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was a six-time NBA champion, six-time NBA MVP and two-time NBA Finals MVP. Peyton Manning won two Super Bowls and retired as the NFL’s all-time leader in touchdown passes and passing yardage. J.J. Watt is a three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year. Virgos are the thinking person’s athlete. They will put as much energy into studying their chosen sport as they will into physically training to compete. As well, they’re going to put as much attention into the nutrients they intake to ensure maximum performance on the playing field.
Famous Virgo Athletes: Basketball legends Kobe Bryant and James Harden are Virgos, as is Jesse Owens, who won four gold medals in track and field at the 1936 Olympics. Reigning NL MVP Freddie Freeman is also a Scorpio, as is NFL MVP and Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes.
Sagittarius (November 22-December 21)
Sagittarians are naturally inclined to keep busy and stay fit. They’re equally at home in individual sports or as part of a team. They’re also world travelers, so a career in sports can accommodate that desire.
