You can’t create a new music genre overnight. And neither is it possible for one person to bring that change. So if you want to start a new music genre, several artists have to come together and contribute to their tunes.

Trap music is one of the latest additions to the library of music genres. It started in the early 2010s, and it blends elements of trap music (an offshoot of hip hop) with EDM elements like drops, build-ups and breakdowns. And Tribal Trap, a famous label, is one of it’s pioneers. Tribal Trap started as a creative outlet for artists who wanted to showcase their music. Stan Wittenberg, founder of Tribal Trap, first got introduced to trap music in 2013 after starting a channel called ‘WhiteKnife’, where he showcased the newest trap in a weekly mix.

Stan’s subscribers reached 350,000 in no time. He reached  so many musicians that a chunk of them started messaging him their tracks to premiere on the channel. At one point, this led Stan to the formation of Tribal Trap, a promotional channel to accompany the earlier WhiteKnife brand.

Journey to the top

Tribal Trap has more than 800k YouTube subscribers, over 750k Spotify followers, and a little over 150k Soundcloud followers. But this fan following didn’t happen overnight. Tribal Trap started in 2014. It became a prime creative outlet for artists to showcase their trap music skills.

Once the platform established its substantial presence in various streaming platforms like Soundcloud, YouTube, and Spotify, it started an official record label named Tribal Trap in 2016. Wittenberg believed that this would help expand the network further.

Tribal Trap soon gave rise to Tribal Music Group. Tribal Music Group contains a multitude of brands started and acquired by the young entrepreneur, ensuring further growth and branching out to merchandising and live events.

2019’s top emerging label

It takes years for a label to make its presence felt among music lovers. But, most importantly, the brand has to consistently deliver hits to ensure that its audience listens to its songs. Tribal Trap has successfully done that for the last seven years. Ever since its inception in 2014, Tribal Trap has delivered hit after hit. As a result, it is the leading label in Tribal Music Group.

The label got its first global recognition when Audiomack.com awarded Tribal Trap a top emerging label designation of 2019. This was one of the enormous feathers in the cap of the label. Soon, two magazines from the Netherlands, Rankingz and DJ Mag, counted Tribal Trap as the fifth-biggest label in the country based on follower count. The surprising part about this achievement was Tribal Trap was only five years old when they made it to the top five list. Other names on that list had been around for decades.

This shows the potential of Tribal Trap and why people call it the pioneer of trap music. It promises to deliver more hit music in the future and expects to work with some of the biggest producers in the industry.
