Box Brazil Play is one of the popular VOD platforms and TV channels that recently selected Homeless Sam & Sally – The Movie to be part of their visual catalog. BBP is also a Brazil-based platform that is a subsidiary of Box Brazil Group. They have 40+ live TV channels and also own multiple streaming platforms. So this is a huge leap for the Homeless Sam & Sally film.
Award-winning entertainer / television personality and filmmaker Tyrone Evans Clark who is also known as Tyy Renaissance has added magic to his directorial debut Homeless Sam & Sally – The Movie. The hilarious film, described as a dark comedy, features Clark in the lead role as the character Sam Silver with his mother Sally Silver who is played by Margaret Newborn (recently featured in Lizzo’s music video About Damn Time).
HSAS follows a single mother, Sally and her mentally touched son Sam. She finds out later in the film that the Landlord – Josh who is played by Mehmet Edip has the hots for her. Sally tries to use it to her advantage by exchanging sex with him for paid rent, but the landlord didn’t keep his promise so unfortunately the Silver Family is forced to live on the street. In this unflattering twisted reality with crazy graphics, the subject of Clark’s film is great, touching the hearts of all and allowing you to take a pause and imagine yourself in the eyes of the homeless. As Sam realizes that he can’t trust the Officers Idris (Darnell Baldwin) and Stokely (Mark Schaefer) in the neighborhood he continues to discover how twisted and disturbing his mind is by seeing creatures played by God of Thunder’s Max Aria (The Red Face Creature Thing) and The Bold and the Beautiful’s Kevin Scarlett (The Creature Thing). He finds strength in accepting his new reality with his mother Sally as homeless citizens just trying to go through the motions of Koreatown, Los Angeles.
Clark serves as writer and executive producer for this production too. The movie was filmed predominantly in Koreatown, Los Angeles and a few scenes were shot in New Orleans, Louisiana. In his directorial debut, Clark brings together an incredible cast of actors/actresses Camille Calvin who is known for the TV series All Rise and Stumptown, Romeial Hilaire, Selene Rojas Alcover, George Sepa, I. Vega, Eddie Long, and long-time collaborators hailing from his 12+ years career in video game development and film/television to help tell this story that is inspired by Clark’s homeless life during his adolescence. The television series was also picked up earlier in 2019 by BINGE Networks under a similar name Homeless Sam & Sally (also known as Sam & Sally).
