There are a lot of different myths out there that are propagated about online casinos. The problem with them, is that a lot of the myths sound very plausible. It makes it sound possible, and that can often confuse people. We’ve gone over some of the most common myths that are out there, in order to reveal the truth about online casinos.

The Games are Fixed

You’ve probably heard this kind of talk about every casino in existence. It doesn’t matter where the casino is located, it is said about games from England to Australia, and also in Chile, but no matter where the site is, the fact remains that it’s just not true. The games at online casinos are created by legitimate software developers.

The developers have to be monitored by gambling regulators, in order to create games that can be played in different countries. This means that the code they use for the games, must be audited on a regular basis. As such, this also means that the games have to be legitimate, or the regulators would remove their licenses.

The reason people believe the games to be fixed, is because they use random number technology. As such, this can provide totally unexpected outcomes on every single spin. This often confuses players, and it leads them to believe the worst about the game, rather than the truth that it just behaves in a random manner.

It’s Easy to Play at Online Casinos when Underage

To put it very simply, it’s far harder for someone underage to play at an online casino than any other form of gambling. Online casinos require a number of different checks to be carried out, in order to make sure that the person playing at the site is of a legal age. This instantly makes it next to impossible to play at a legitimate site if you’re underage.

It’s much more possible for players to gamble when underage in real life, because if someone looks a lot older than they are, they are less likely to be pulled up on whether they are old enough to gamble. As such, online casinos actually do a lot when it comes to restricting how many people are able to gamble when underage.

You can Card Count when Playing Online Blackjack

The movies have a lot to answer for. They have made a generation of people believe that it’s easy to count cards and that you can do it when playing online. To make it very simple to understand, counting cards is a difficult task. It takes a huge amount of time and practice to get good at it. And even then, it’s not something you can do when playing alone.

And on top of all of that, even if you did manage to learn how to count cards, you can’t do it at online casinos. Online Blackjack uses computer software to shuffle the cards between every hand. So, whenever you play, the cards are randomly shuffled for each and every hand. This means that if you count the cards, the count has to be reset before the hand is played. It means that there is no benefit that you can get from counting cards when playing using Blackjack software.

Winners Don’t Receive Payouts

This is perhaps the most common myth that is spouted about online casinos. There are two ways that this is just purely and simply not the case. The first, is when winning a regular game. Any online casino that doesn’t pay out to legitimate winners, will be reprimanded by its regulator. This could mean having to pay a fine which will be a lot more than the payout would have been. It means as long as you are playing at a legitimate site, you will get access to your winnings.

The second way that it’s not the case, is when playing progressive jackpot games. Because the winnings from these games aren’t paid by the casino itself, it makes no sense for them to be withheld. As such, progressive payouts are always paid out, as long as they are won in a fair manner.
