While the monies you spend may or may not be much at one go, it may sometimes run to thousands over the years if you take a second look. Yes, we know it’s all about fan love. Still, the skyrocketing cost of concert tickets and merchandise that is becoming a norm these days is also worth considering. In this regard, the question is: is seeing your favourite artists more than once worth with? Let’s find out.

 

Hip-hop Artists

Based on the most streamed artists on Spotify, a Betway study puts Drake, Post Malone, and Eminem as the first, second, and third costliest hip-hop singers to religiously follow. If you are just a casual listener, buying Drake’s new album, “Honestly, Nevermind,” will cost you £9.99 and £0.71 per track. However, the cheapest resale ticket to one of Drake’s live shows is about  £405.87, which can easily stack up to £12,581.97 if you a diehard fan that saw all his 31 UK shows in the last five years.

If you purchase merchandise or other drake-signed items at the venues, trust us, your fan love expense could climb up to £13,000. On the other hand, to be a devoted Post Malone and Eminem fan will cost around £1087.66 and £811.19, respectively.

 

R&B Artists

With Adele, Bruno mars, Khalid, The Weekend, and Beyonce on the list of top R&B singers, seeing their live shows more than once may cost you in the range of thousands. With powerhouse British singer Adele, you would have spent £3,840.41 to see all her 7 live UK shows in the last five years, being that her cheapest resale ticket is around £548.63. Bruno Mars, Khalid, The Weekend, and Beyonce, will cost you around  £2,365.50, £1,012, £590.96, and £406.70, respectively, to see their live UK shows in the past five years.

 

Pop Artists

Pop singer Ed Sheeran’s cheapest resale tickets go for £78.85. With 115 UK shows performed in the last five years, you would have spent £9067.75 to see his shows multiple times, not to mention the cost of merchandise, signed goodies, etc. Other pop singers like BTS, Sam Smith, Dua Lipa, and Miley Cyrus will also cost you in the range of thousands to see them perform live multiple times.

 

Indie/Rock Artists

Metallica, Elton John, Coldplay, Queen, and Twenty One Pilots are some of the top indie/rock music makers fans troop to see their live shows. With Metallica on the top of the list of the most expensive indie/rock to see, you would have spent £2,569.68 to see all 24 UK shows in the last five years. If you add merchandise purchases, the total cost could reach £2,719.36. If you are also a diehard fan of Elton, Coldplay, Queen, and Twenty One Pilots, seeing these acts’ live UK shows will also cost you £1,895.06, £1,395.23, £1,392.30, and £1,299.67, respectively

 

Is it worth it?

Of course, seeing your favourite artists is always worth it as long as you have the resources to keep up. Still, if you factor in some conditions, like the venue where your artist is performing, the time you choose to see their show,  and booking in advance to avoid the dynamic pricing, etc., it can help keep your fan love expense at a reasonable range.
