Maintaining and caring for your water fountain can help it survive a long time. An outdoor and indoor water fountain’s circulatory system relies on its submersible pumps. Pumps for water fountains are essential, regardless of the fountain’s materials, size, or price. Pumps move the water, not the other way around.

If you have a fountain in your home or workplace, it is crucial to maintain it since it might be is the first thing a visitor notices. Whether it’s a big fountain or a floor fountain for a corner or an entrance, it’s essential to secure it. The pump is that one key to keeping your fountain running smoothly, inside or out. There isn’t much of a cover-up going on. Basic logic and knowledge are all that is needed. Here are a few ideas for keeping your water feature safe.

Place the water fountain in a stable position.

An outdoor water fountain might fall over and be damaged by severe winds if it isn’t adequately secured. It is essential to ensure that the fountain’s foundation is anchored correctly down in the ground and that the basin is attached to it. This will effectively keep the fountain in place in the event of inclement weather.

Submerge the pump in water at all times.

You’ll need to refill your fountain from time to time. Based on your location, climate, water fountain size, and other variables, you may or may not need to do this task regularly.

Ensure that it is safe throughout the cold months.

The freeze-thaw cycles that happen in the winter may cause damage to both our Glass – Reinforced Concrete and Casting Stone products, so adequate care is necessary. Water, snow, or ice may harm any object put directly on the ground during the cold winter cycles.

This includes anything that can store water and anything that is placed firmly on the floor like a statue. It is best to keep a fountain indoors throughout the winter months, away from the weather. To prevent water from freezing in the basin, remove any pumps, rubber stoppers, drain pipes, and finials and cover the basin’s surface with a tarp. Indoor storage is preferable for fountain pumps, pinnacles, and other minor components.

Eliminate the algae by scrubbing the area thoroughly.

There is a reasonable risk that your fountain may get overrun with algae if exposed to high temperatures like the sunlight. To prevent this, use an appropriate algae remover to clean your fountains. Contact your fountain supplier if you’re unsure which one to use.

Apply compatible cleaners to the fountain.

Concrete, stainless steel, and copper are just a handful of the materials used to build outdoor water fountains. Keep in mind that the cleanser you choose for your outdoor water fountain must be suitable for the material it is made of. If you can, stay away from harsh cleaners.

Of course, many of us will be worried about the fountain’s health since many people bought it for various reasons such as decoration or maybe following the Fengshui. Keeping your fountain in good working order is essential to ensure its longevity, so consider what I’ve mentioned above.
