Ed Sheeran’s “Mathematics” tour is being compared to Taylor Swift’s Eras tour and if you look closely at the pattern of both tours, from the basic foundation, you will realize, that there is in fact, a lot of resemblance in the planning and organizing of both tours.

Taylor’s Eras Tour is a combination of her albums since she started her musical career. She has so far re-recorded most of her albums, performing some songs from these albums as special songs for her fans amidst the Eras Tour.

Ed’s “Mathematics Tour” is also a combination of his albums since he started his musical career. His first album released was the “+” album from which he based his “+” tour back in 2011, through to 2013.

The “+” album generated millions of dollars for Ed, after selling more than 100k copies within the first week of its release. It also contributed greatly to the fame Ed is now recognized for after marking his first major success as a musician through the same album and tour.

Ed Sheeran is currently touring the world for the “Mathematics” tour with new dates announced for his European fans. Popular songs from +, -, *, and / are on the set list, more than enough for all his fans to have a magical experience, while at these concerts.

There are 30 songs with 6 featured artists on the set list stretched within approximately 2 hours. For those who enjoy Ed’s music and are good fans of the 32-year-old English singer, that is 2 hours of extreme vibes.

It would be a shame to miss “Ed’s Eras Tour” due to the lack of tickets. As per good looking out, don’t forget, you can get Ed Sheeran tickets from a marketplace that has maintained a solid reputation for providing die-hard fans with tickets to their favorite concert.

The Numbers Game

The mathematics tour is referred to as the number’s game not because of the name of the albums that are featured in it, but because of the amazing statistics of the tour since it began on 23rd April 2022.

So far, Ed Sheeran’s Mathematics tour has generated more than $400 million in revenue. We will be looking at where the significant amounts that summed up this figure came from.

Mathematics Tour – 2022

When Ed started the mathematics tour in 2022, he played in 3 Countries, before performing in England. The fans in England showed Ed massive support and their support was attested through the numbers we now have from England alone.

England made up to $64,267,154 million of the total revenue generated from the mathematics tour which is $417.1 million, making 15.4% of it all.

Ed performed in London, 5 times at the Wembley Stadium and total attendance on these nights is estimated to be between 420,269 and 460,165. But that was before he performed at Sunderland on 2 nights, and then Manchester on 4 nights.

But the superb support Ed is receiving from England should not be shocking since the UK has shown superiority when it comes to purchasing Ed Sheeran’s albums. They have topped every chart where buyers of Ed’s albums are categorized, with the US of A coming 2nd, and 4th in most cases.

What’s even more amazing about England is that both Sunderland and Manchester combined do not generate the amount of revenue Ed’s mathematics tour generated in London alone.

Could it be because London is currently the most populated city in the United Kingdom? That might be the case, until you see how much Switzerland, with just 96k + people in attendance in the Letzigrund stadium on the 16th and 17th of September, generated revenue for the mathematics tour is.

The fans in Switzerland, although not as popular as London or other cities in the UK also contributed massively to the entire revenue generated so far from the Mathematics tour. Ed performed for 2 days there and attendance on these nights was estimated to be between 95 and 96k people.

The income generated at the end of the concerts reached $12,200,837; that is to say, each person spent nothing less than $125 to be there on that night.

All in all, 2022 cannot be forgotten when the success story of Ed is being told because the ticket sales for the Mathematics tour alone landed Ed on the No.1 list of top ticket sales charts by the end of the year.

Mathematics Tour – 2023

2023 picked up exactly from where the mathematics tour stopped back in 2022 and the numbers so far have proven to be supportive of 2022.

Ed prepared a set list of 30 songs repeatedly spread across 37 cities equaling 37 live performances, with more opening acts than 2022 and it has been worth it, every energy matched with millions of fans feeling the vibes for their money.

So far, Ed has made $25,645,109 million in September only. And the figures made in February alone will shock you.

Ed performed in 3 different cities in September. 2 in the USA and 1 in Canada. The attendance in BC Place, Vancouver Canada, was estimated to be between 65,061 / 65,061. This crowd generated close to $7 million by the end of the concert.

Santa Clara and Inglewood, USA got to receive the Mathematics Tourist last September and they came out in their numbers to show massive support as well after generating $9,821,417 and $9,225,764 respectively, after the concerts were over.

Attendance in Levi’s Stadium, Santa Clara was estimated to be between 80,058 / 80,058, while that of SoFi Stadium is estimated to be between 81,384 / 81,384. This stat clarifies that it’s not the number that matters; it’s the dedication of the fans in that city even though population also plays a vital role to an extent.

Skipping February might leave you thinking September has the biggest figure for just 3 shows in 2023, but $50,635,982 in February is twice the figure in September. The shows in February however are up to 8, so to an extent, Ed had it easy with September’s 3.

Another thing to take note of is that Australia’s Brisbane and Sydney, and New Zealand’s Wellington and Auckland are the major cities responsible for generating the $50,635,982 recorded in February for Ed’s Mathematics tour, with Australia generating more than half of the figure.

Mathematics Tour – 2024

The Mathematics Tour will stretch through to 2024 where it is scheduled to end on the 8th of September in Cyprus, Larnaca. The “Bad Habits” singer has added more dates for his fans in Europe.

India, alongside Japan and Spain, are the countries Ed will be touring next year and although we don’t know the specific number of tickets sold there yet, we are optimistic that these Countries will change the narrative of the Mathematics tour, with numbers in mind due to their population, to an even greater success story soon.

More reason why the Mathematics Tour is compared to Taylor’s Eras Tour is because; all previous Albums of Ed Sheeran and Tours have broken certain records in their own time.

So, just like Taylor, Ed is reliving his musical era by performing the Mathematics tour on different continents and countries for his fans spread across the globe to feel in reality, the special feeling they get when they listen to the amazing songs on the Mathematics Albums.
