Staff Selection Commission is responsible for conducting SSC GD Constable Recruitment. SSC screens candidates for General Duty Constable. Application Process for SSC GD Constable
Candidates can apply for this post online only. Follow the steps given below to apply for SSC GD Constable:
- The link for applying for the same is made available on the official website of Staff Selection Commission, i.e. https://ssc.nic.in/.
- Look for careers on the home page and click on it.
- Fill all your personal details like name, password, etc.
- Upload required documents and scanned signature while adhering to the specified format.
- Make sure that you have provided the correct details before clicking on ‘Submit’.
The application will be rejected if the candidate doesn’t pay the application fee. The payment of application fee can be made online through Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking. The application fee for candidates belonging to General and OBC category is Rs 50 while SC/ST/PWD candidates are exempted from the fee.
Selection Process for SSC GD Constable
The selection process for SSC GD Constable will include three stages that are:
- Physical Standard Test/Physical Measurement Test
This test will assess the physical standards of the candidates like height and chest requirements. Candidates who’ll clear this round will be eligible for the next phase.
- Written Examination
The SSC GD Constable Exam will be written. The exam will carry 100 marks and will include 100 questions. The exam will include the following sections:
Exam Pattern for SSC GD Constable Exam
The exam will be divided into four sections. Candidates will get 2 hours to solve the questions. Every question will be for 1 mark and there will be a deduction of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer. The exam will be bilingual and can be attempted in either Hindi or English. The detail of the sections is given below:

- Medical Examination
Medical Examination is the final stage of the selection process. After qualifying the above two stages, candidates have to go through a medical examination to make it to the final merit list.
