Thanks to the success of Hollywood film series The Hangover, most stag groups are aware of what they should expect on a stag party. While that’s a great thing when it comes to bringing everyone on the same page, the movies have blurred the limits of how far you should take the party.

While most of us understand that stealing a police vehicle is not an option, the daily news is still full of grooms not making to their weddings because they ended up doing something stupid during their stag weekend.

Since a stag party is your last day as a single man, the celebrations should indeed be of epic proportions. However, just to ensure nothing goes wrong during the celebration, and you make it back to the wedding on time, keep these holy commandments of a stag party in mind:

Make sure you do not lose the stag

While it might seem funny to leave the stag at the mercy of Russian strippers at 4 AM in the morning, things might go south before you realise it, especially if you’re partying in a foreign land.

Keep in mind, the groom-to-be is the most important person present at the party, and should never be left alone.

Do not take or post incriminating photos on social media

This might, yet again, seem funny in the moment, clicking and posting pictures breaches the most important and basic bro code.

Such photos can not only put the stag in trouble, but anyone whose missus looks at the photographs without context. Nobody wants to be reminded of the embarrassing moments they endured during the party, and it should be kept that way.

Do not let the stag cheat

This rule is critical for obvious reasons. While a little lap dance fun is mandatory for the groom-to-be, don’t let him get 10 lap dances from the same stripper.

Same goes for making out with a random stranger. Since it is the groom’s last night as a single man, a little stroke to the ego is not bad. However, make sure the groom keeps it in his pants, and the stranger is not brought back to your accommodation.

This might also be a good time to remind you to not get distracted by women yourself. You might be a complete heartthrob among women back home, remember that the day is about the groom. Do not disappear with a random girl in a club, leaving the groom alone.

Don’t get arrested

While this might seem like an obvious thing to say, binge drinking groups of stags often forget about their limits. While doing crazy stuff is an indispensable part of the plan, make sure the groom is not skipping his wedding to appear in court for indecent exposure.

Wherever your stag party is being held, make sure you do your homework beforehand. For instance, mankinis are a complete rage among stag groups, but are banned by the government in Newquay.

Don’t get into a fight

Another seemingly obvious rule, often ignored during drinking binges in large groups. While there is no denying the fact that most people feel like they own the World after a few pints, make sure you don’t let your egos come in the way of enjoying the weekend.

It helps to remember, at all times, that you and your mates have come together to have a good time, and starting a fight is going to ruin it for everyone.
