Valentine’s Day is all about love, so whether you are spending it alone, with your partner or friends, it’s a day you should enjoy. Ranging from cheap to expensive, and romantic to anti-establishment, we found unique activities across the city for you to try!

Duos Print Making

Carousel Print Studio print making

From 10am to 3pm, charity Carousel Print Studio is offering lessons for duos, whether you are friends, partners or family. The event is located on Exchange Street and is open to complete beginners. Once there, you will learn how to make linocut prints from a design of your own choosing. All equipment and material are provided, and the hand carved printing blocks can be taken home ready to frame. Tickets can be found on their Eventbrite for £150 per duo.

Moonlight Sonata by Candlelight

For a sophisticated evening of classic music, Sheffield Cathedral is hosting pianist Martin Cousin. Martin has performed at the Royal Philharmonic, BBC Concert Orchestras and toured worldwide. To be serenaded by Martin, head to the Fever website where tickets range from £20 to £45. Doors open 7:30pm

The Anti-Valentine’s Day Ceilidh

Even if you love to hate Valentine’s Day there’s a place for you on the dance floor at Crookes Social Club. Hosted by Powerhouse Ceilidh Band, doors open at 7:30pm till late. The room will be filled with folk rock and metal ceilidh music as couples and singles alike celebrate death to commercialism. It’s only £10 a ticket on the Powerhouse Ceilidh Band website so be sure to get tickets before the consumerists do!

Chocolate Cocktail Club

Midnight Margarita chocolate cocktails

Open to all, this year Midnight Margarita Bar are hosting a Chocolate Cocktail Club running from 4pm to 11:30pm. Located on Wharf Street, they ask customers to specify whether they are enjoying the day alone, with friends or a partner, so they can tailor the occasion to everyone.  If you are looking for the perfect indulgent treat, then Midnight Margarita Bar is the place to be. Tickets can be found on Eventbrite for £38.62 each.

Valentine’s Day Dog Afternoon Tea

To share the love with your pets, be sure to get tickets for Cutlery Works’ furry take on afternoon tea. Tickets are £8.83 per dog on Eventbrite and include pupcakes, doggie brownies and a Puppuchino. The event will run from 11am to 12pm in Neepsend and any leftover treats can be taken home in a goody bag!
