Sheffield welcomes Christmas in style on Sunday 18th November, as Leopold Square transforms into a winter wonderland for the town’s official Christmas lights switch-on event.

Leopold Square has announced its plans for the one-day event, which will feature snow machines and some of Santa’s very own reindeer. Children can get their face painted for free, while parents can enjoy festive food and drinks in The Square’s numerous restaurants and bars.

Local choirs are set to make an appearance, with children from Emmaus Primary School performing from 12pm-1pm, as well as members from Sheffield’s Rock Choir and Sheffield Community Choir spreading seasonal cheer at 3pm and 4pm respectively. The Square’s resident DJ, Ryan Taylor, will be playing classic Christmas hits throughout the day.

Nick Yates, from Leopold Square, commented: “With The Square’s outdoor heaters and cosy blankets as the snow falls, live music from our local community, and festive food and drink treats from our tenants, there’s something for everyone to enjoy at our Winter Wonderland event. I hope it helps our visitors get into the spirit of Christmas ahead of Sheffield’s main light switch-on at 5.30pm.”

Join the festive fun at Leopold Square on Sunday 18th November – 12pm until 5pm.
