A festival full of cultural immersion.
Later this month, the Crucible theatre will be hosting a celebratory weekend providing an elaborate taste of African culture for your very own pleasure. SoAfrica, brought together by Utopia Theatre, collaborate a compelling mixture of contemporary and traditional music, theatre, poetry and fashion.
A collection of events will be taking place over the weekend from free workshops in drumming, writing, performances, dance and storytelling. Internationally renowned rapper, journalist and poet, Akala, will also be making an appearance and is set to headline alongside Seun Kuti, the son of legendary afrobeat pioneer, Fela Kuti.
If this wasn’t enough, a marketplace made up of authentic African clothing, books and accessories will be available too. You can truly feel as if you’ve stepped into the wonderful world of Africa, without even having to board a plane.
SoAfrica Festival 2018 will take over the Crucible on Friday 26 and Saturday 27 October. Tickets [for main the stage acts] are on sale now and can be purchased here
