The Leadmill have announced a chilling duo of Halloween film screenings to be shown at Sheffield General Cemetery this autumn. On the 31st of October, Leadmill cinematic is moving to The Samuel Worth Chapel with a screening of The Omen followed by a surely terrifying midnight showing of Get Out. Also as part of the Autumn Cinematic Programme The Leadmill will be screening two cult classics, Grease and Pulp Fiction.
For the very first time, the team behind the Leadmill are taking their cinematic screenings beyond the beloved venue and out into the city. On Halloween night, you are invited to explore the spooky Sheffield General Cemetery for a double bill of films guaranteed to leave you on the edge of your seat.
Kicking off the night is The Omen with the doors opening at 7pm. Richard Donner’s 1976 horror soaked, supernatural cult classic tells a tale of the Anti-Christ walking the earth in the form of a small boy. The film has been appropriately described as one of the darkest and most deeply disturbing films of all time. Next on the bill is the midnight screening of Get Out (doors open at 11pm), Jordan Peele’s satirical modern thriller. The premise of Get Out has been done before: A young black man (Chris) goes home with his white girlfriend (Rose) to meet her parents, but as the weekend progresses Chris starts to uncover a series of disturbing secrets that are being kept by Rose’s parents. This is a nerve-wracking psychological horror which guarantees to mess with your mind.
Back at the Leadmill, two American cult classics take to the screen. Celebrating its 25th anniversary, Pulp Fiction screens on the 15th October, with Grease showing on the 27th November. Both films have been carefully selected for their cult status and incredible soundtrack – “Both have amazing sound tracks, so to hear those through The Leadmill’s PA will be really impressive – Sheffield is in for a treat!”
These screenings will also feature a full bar offering themed drinks, popcorn and pick and mix.
Tickets for all four events are on sale now. Tickets for The Omen and Get Out are priced at £11 each and are on sale now. Tickets for Pulp Fiction and Grease are £6 each, with options to upgrade to Table and VIP tickets too.
