Aiming to showcase the city’s diverse fashion and beauty scene, Style Sheffield returns next month with two free events bringing together independent boutiques and big brands. The event will be part of Sheffield BID’s Alive After Five strategy and will feature fizz, fun and fashion.
Just two days before Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tie the knot, the first event, Style Sheffield Beauty Night will take place at Virgin Money Lounge. Here beauty lovers can watch four hair and beauty demonstrations – including a look for the bride-to-be and her guests – and perfect timing for the approaching wedding season.
The second event is the Style Sheffield Fashion Show on Thursday 24th May and will take place in Sheffield City Hall. National brands and Sheffield independent boutiques will all showcase their fashion collection on the catwalk and you can have a cruise around your favourites – or even find something new – at the Style Sheffield market. Retailers will bring exclusive products and one-off discounts to the event, and you will be in with the chance to have an on-stage makeover from a fashion expert.
Looking for a new wardrobe without emptying your bank account? Take a trip to the style Sheffield Fashion Exchange and find your je ne sais quoi. Just bring along your own unwanted clothes, hand them in, have a browse and take your pick from rails full of clothing ready to exchange. Any clothing left unclaimed at the end of the event will be donated to the Cathedral Archer Project.
Also saving you the pennies is the fact that both events are free to attend. You’ll see the likes of retail giants John Lewis, M&S to local vintage stores like Mooch Vintage, as well as famous beauty brands such as GHD and Bobbi Brown.
Tom Holmes, Head of Branch at John Lewis, said: “Following John Lewis’ involvement in the first Style Sheffield, we cannot wait for this event to return in May. We will be showcasing our latest collections on the catwalk at the Fashion Show and a fantastic range of hair and beauty brands at the Beauty Night. During Style Sheffield, John Lewis enjoys working alongside other retailers to promote the fantastic shopping available in Sheffield city centre.”
Diane Jarvis, Sheffield BID Manager, said: “Style Sheffield will feature the city centre’s fantastic range of independent stores and national chains, and promote Sheffield city centre as a destination for style and fashion.
“Alive After Five works to boost the early evening economy by promoting the city centre as a vibrant place to visit after 5pm, and events like Style Sheffield support this, as well as providing a platform for retailers small and large to showcase their latest collections.”
