Sheffield City Centre Retail Forum, a consortium of retailers working together to promote retail in the heart of the city, have announced that they will be staging a Student Takeover to mark the new academic year.

Taking place on Tuesday 4th October, the event has been organised to welcome new and returning students, offering a one-off set of offers and giveaways to help promote the breadth and depth of retail located in the heart of the steel city.

Working in association with the Orchard Square and the Moor, two of the key retail destinations in the city, alongside a raft of popular anchor and independent retailers throughout the centre, the Retail Forum has organised over 25 ‘NOT TO BE MISSED’ offers for the inaugural Student Takeover.

Commenting on the forthcoming event, Brendan O’Connor, Chair of the Sheffield City Centre Retail Forum said: “This event has been developed to give our city centre retailers the ideal opportunity to showboat our collective offer to students from across our region.”

To be within a chance of winning organisers are asking students to visit Orchard Square between 12 noon and 7pm on 4th October to view the room and enter!

What’s more, Simulation Station in Orchard Square will be hosting a challenge during the day with the fastest lap qualifying for a FREE 1-hour session – plus 25% off bookings for students throughout October.

Outdoor seating and a local DJ will also be located in Orchard Square during the day and evening alongside a host of food and drink offers from the Square to include Sheffield Plate, Terrace Goods and Cheap Dates.
