Sheffield Theatres have announced a weekend of free outdoor performances this month as part of the ‘Summer in the City’ campaign.
It will all take place in Tudor Square on Saturday 26 June and Sunday 27 June. The area will be transformed into a festival space running an array of free events over the two days, featuring performances reflecting the rich diversity of local creative talent through street acts, music, poetry and theatre acts.
On Saturday 26 June events will run from 11am-10pm. Sunday events will be slightly shorter running from 11am-5pm, with all earlier activities being family-friendly. Deck chairs and benches will be available for people to take a seat and enjoy the show!
The line-up includes Sheffield-born performer and writer Tommi Bryson, former Lord Mayor Magid Magid reading from his book ‘The Art of Disruption’, North East theatre company ‘Bonnie and Bonnettes’ performing drag and cabaret sketches, Barnsley street and festival theatre performers, Sheffield Comedian Maynard Flip Fla, plus many more.

We recognise how challenging this time has been for the city centre and its businesses, so are thrilled to be able to bring people back to the heart of our city through a weekend of brilliant performances for everyone to enjoy.
“We’re so grateful for the expertise and support of our partners, The University of Sheffield and Yellow Bus Events, for the support from the government’s Cultural Recovery Fund and commitment from Sheffield City Council. We can’t wait for Sheffield to see what we’ve put together.”
This year’s event is being supported by The University of Sheffield, Yellow Bus Events and Sheffield City Council.

During the two-day event, Crucible Corner, Sheffield’s Theatres’ bar and restaurant, will be open for customers to enjoy a range of hot sandwiches, light bites and refreshments whilst watching the outdoor performances.
