It’s been 100 years since the life-changing suffragette movement where (some) women won the right to vote. But how far have we come? Where are we now? SheFest sets out to answer some of these questions, and a whole lot more with their headline show Wild Woman.

The team behind Theatre Deli’s acclaimed 2017 Vagina Monologues are going to be headlining Sheffield feminist festival SheFest 2018 with a brand new show Wild Woman, a night of true stories and ‘breaking the mould’,  following the journey of the Wild Woman on March 8.

We should expect (to name a few): Indian dance, tales of skinny dipping, star gazing and work by some of the North’s most exciting and up and coming female artists. There will also be an exciting experimental piece that brings together movement, audio and visual installation and music.

The show is the product of a collaboration between  Cocoon Co – an all-female artistic group based in Sheffield – and various charities, including the women from Together Women Project (TWP).

The TWP are an independent charity who specifically help vulnerable women in the community who have – or are at risk of – offending. Their work is invaluable to the welfare of women across all communities, helping them with housing, parenting and confidence building to name a few.

The night will feature the talented Sally Proctor (Slung Low associate director), The 52 (Departure Point, Theatre Deli) and Jessica Gibson (Work.In.Progress, Sheffield Theathres), so pop along for a night of empowerment and fun at Theatre Deli.
