Sensoria Festival has announced the first headline act for 2019’s festival will be Creep Show – a collaboration between John Grant and trio Wrangler.
The band is a collaboration between John Grant and the analogue electro trio Wrangler (Stephen Mallinder / Phil Winter / Benge). The event will act as the first live show for the band, whose debut album, Mr Dynamite, was voted 2018 Album of the Year by Electronic Sound Magazine.
Creep Show’s musical stylings are an experimental pursuit of innovative pop and surreal funk that incorporates interplay between the two vocalists, Grant and Mallinder, to add an extra dimension to their sound. Mallinder has described it as a “beast with multiple heads and voices, so no one is quite sure who is saying and doing what. Everything is permitted and everything is possible.”
This year’s festival themes are ‘Fantastic Planet’ and ‘Myths and Legends’.
Sensoria takes place from 27 September to 5 October when Creep Show will play The Octagon Centre.
