A Scandinavian-inspired baby gift shop is opening on Ecclesall Road next month.

Snügg is just a few weeks from opening on the metropolis of Eccy Road. Following the recent openings of Oliver Bonas and Arnold and Co this year, the area is bustling with unique, independent businesses. Snügg, the Scandi-inspired baby shop, is set to join them next month. As Sheffield itself is in its own Hygge-type slumber during the student summer exodus, owner Amy Cuttill tells Exposed why this type of business will be a welcome addition to the city. “Sheffield really lacks a go-to shop for babies and kids. I have two children and I mostly buy online – myself and a lot of other people prefer going out to a shop.

“I wanted to have a special place where people can buy clothes (mostly), toys and gifts for their children.”

Why Scandinavian inspired, then? “I have a few friends over in Scandinavia and I’ve just become so inspired. I’ve spent some time over there and everything is so well made, so family orientated – I just love their way of living!”

Amy herself is from Ecclesall, but has spent her time between Sheffield and the Lake District, where her parents own a tourist attraction and baby shop. “I’ve learnt so much from them over the years and I’m looking forward to doing my own thing.”

Snügg is set to open early September at 533 Ecclesall Road. Head over to Snügg’s Facebook page for more information.
