‘Roundabout’ Choc Fest is back for 2022
Roundabout Yorkshire Chocolate Festival back for Autumn 2022!
INDULGE in the tastes of luxury as South Yorkshire youth homelessness charity, Roundabout returns with a newly expanded Yorkshire Chocolate Festival for autumn 2022.
In the first Yorkshire Chocolate Festival, 70 different chocolate makers from across the North met up at Sheffield’s Kelham Island and contributed in October 2021. With a sell-out crowd, enjoying a range of chocolate workshops and live music throughout the day of tasty indulgence.
The festival had raised an incredible £15,000 for Roundabout, by the time they sold the last chocolate bars and drank those last mugs of hot chocolate. All the profits from this were contributing to a good cause. By supporting a charity that supports young people, who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, aged 16 to 25 in South Yorkshire.
The ‘Roundabout’ charity works with more than 300 young people every day, by providing shelter, support and life skills to help them gain their independence. Their hostel is located near London Road and provides safety and accommodation for 27 young people aged between 16 to 21.
Roundabout is strongly committed to preventing young people from becoming homeless and believes home is the best place to be if it is safe to be there. The charity’s Homeless Prevention Service offers advice and support to young people who are at risk of becoming homeless due to family relationship breakdown.
“We are again looking for a variety of stalls that are all somehow linked to chocolate or sweet treats. From brownies and doughnuts to hot chocolate mugs and wax melts, there will be something for everyone!”
Now the organisers have confirmed that the Festival will be back. On Saturday October 15.
But due to popular demand, they are moving this event to the bigger Magna Science Adventure Centre at Templeborough, near Meadowhall.
“We were delighted with the way the first Yorkshire Chocolate Festival went and are really excited to be able to say that our 2022 event will be so big that we simply had to find a larger space to accommodate everything we have planned,” said Roundabout event organiser Emily Bush.
“We are looking to hear from the region’s finest chocolatiers and makers – both those who took part in 2021 and the many more who will want to be part of the north’s biggest celebration of all things chocolate.”
To express your interest in having a stall, email Emily Bush at Emily.bush@roundaboutltd.org.
“Please do contact us as soon as possible if you are interested in applying for a stall as we know from the success of last year’s event that demand is going to be high.”
Roundabout is part of the End Youth Homelessness (EYH) partnership, which is a national movement aiming to end youth homelessness in the UK
