BBC Radio 1 is heading to Sheffield Hallam Students’ Union this Welcome Week as part of its R1 Student Tour.
On Saturday 22nd September, the BBC Radio 1 tour bus will be parked outside the Students’ Union building The HUBS, with the station’s team playing music, holding giveaways and giving students the chance to win four tickets to Radio 1’s Big Weekend in 2019.
In addition to the tour bus, Radio 1 will be holding a Q&A with its producers, and presenters, Jordan North, Katie Thistleton and Cel Spellman. The Q&A ‘Behind the Scenes with Radio 1′ will give students the chance to find out what it’s like to work at Radio 1 and ask their own questions. This is a ticketed event; tickets are free and available on the Students’ Union’s website.
Into the evening, presenter Jordan North, host of Radio 1’s Greatest Hits, will be DJing at the Sheffield Hallam Students’ Union Welcome Party in the Students’ Union’s bar Hideout located in the HUBS.
This year, Welcome Week, the fortnight of events and activities welcoming new students and returners to Sheffield Hallam University, takes place between 22nd September and 5th October.
