Last weekend saw the grand opening of the UK’s only videogame museum in our very own Steel City.
The National Videogame Museum (NVM) is the home to several entertainment consoles and arcade machines for you to play at leisure. With timeless games such as Space Invaders and PacMan available.
It provides people with the opportunity to play, learn and share their own ideas, no matter what their ages.
The museum’s patron Ian Livingstone, who helped launch the Lara Croft franchise, said it was hoped it would inspire future generations. “People will be able to experience games for fun but also understand the cultural impact of games,” he said. “The gaming industry is the largest entertainment industry in the world.”
So what do we think Sheffield? Will you be heading down anytime soon?
