A new initiative by Sheffield Doc/Fest to further promote the art of documentary film-making has seen them team up with Sheffield Library to give local library members complimentary access to past films. The thirteen films, selected by the Director of Film Programming at Sheffield Doc/Fest, Luke W.Moody, provides a range of films to suit a multitude of audiences in order to give them the opportunity to “explore new perspectives of documentary film-making”. Among the selected films are Penny Woodcock’s “One Mile Away”, a film centred around the attempts of peacemaking on the streets of Birmingham, and Timothy George Kelly’s “Brexitannia”, which was the first documentary about Brexit Britain.
The films are available all year in the Sheffield Central Library and online at sheffield.ava.watch. Library members just need to register with their current membership details to enjoy the service.
The partnership, which has been supported by the European-wide AVA Library Project, is part of Sheffield Doc/Fest continuous efforts to enhance the documentary industry. See below for a full list of available films on the platform.
