If there is anything the good people of Sheffield enjoys, its a festival. With the sheer amount of them popping up left, right and centre it can be hard to keep track. Being the generous people we are here at Exposed, we complied a list of all the weird and wonderful events coming to the city this summer.


Some Like It Hot – Spicy Streetfood Festival

Want to spice things up a bit? Why not pop in to Sheff’s hottest new festival. The all-day event will have some of the finest street food from across the globe and fun spicy food challenges to give your taste buds a kick.

Bakewell Food Festival

Who doesn’t love a celebration of food and a large glass of gin. With an array of food offerings from the best local produce the Peak District has to offer, it’s a recipe for the perfect day out.

The Sheffield Tango Festival
King Edward VII School // 3-5 May

When you think of dance styles and Sheffield, Tango mightn’t be your first thought. However, its getting pretty big here. And to celebrate, the first Tango Festival is coming to the city this May. With appearances from top teachers and DJs from Buenos Aires to Spain and from all across the UK, it’s expected to go off without a hitch.

Sheffield SU’s Beer & Cider Festival 2019
Sheffield Students’ Union // 3-6 May

For students, Bank holidays mean one thing and one thing only: day drinking. So, it’s only appropriate that The Students’ Union host their annual Beer & Cider Festival over the first May Bank Holiday Weekend. Kick off the Summer in style in their fabulous beer garden with an equally fabulous pint.

Heaven & Hell Fest 2019

The Hard Rock Metal Festival is back for the third year running. Building on the success of previous years, they have another impressive line-up with acts such as Chasing Dragons, Healthy Junkies, Tomorrow Is Lost, Weekend Recovery, Fallen Mafia and Season of Ghosts playing throughout the weekend.

AlgoMech Festival 2019
City Centre // 17-19 May // From £8

The AlgoMech Festival is returning for its third edition and spreading across more of the city to reveal the innards of music and art in the form of code, robots and other strange systems. With performances, talks and workshops from over 35 artists get ready to delve into the Algorithmic and Mechanical Movement.

Sheffield Fake Festival 2019

Sheffield Food Festival
City Centre // 24-27 May

If you’re into your grub and vibrant atmospheres, this mouth-watering celebration will go down a treat. Last year, around 40,000 visitors flocked to the city centre to try a vast selection of street food, try out the various pop-up bars, and enjoy the live music/DJ sets on offer.

Mosfest
Don Valley Bowl // 31 May & 1 June

Giving back has never been as easy as the line-up for the ninth instalment of the charity based festival looks to be a showstopper. The headline acts include The Farm, Space, Jesus Jones, Twisted Wheel and The Clone Roses with the likes of The Bob Marley Experience, Happy Mondaze, The Wired and more taking to the stage over the course of the event.

‘One Valley’ Beer Festival
The Manor // 1 June

It’s a known fact that Sheffield loves Beer and supporting independent breweries. The Manor House are playing into this to host their own beer festival, with Abbeydale Brewery supplying a range of cask beers, Pinch n Pull serving their best street food and DJ Junior K blasting out the beats.

Sheffield Doc/Fest 2019

Gin Fever

One of the largest independent craft gin festivals in the country is returning to Sheffield this summer following a successful event in 2018. Expect this year to be bigger, better and tipsier.

Wortley Beer Festival 2019
Wortley Mens Club // 28-30 June

We can’t get enough of the Beer Festivals here in Sheff. Take your pick from 75 Cask Beers or 30 Traditional Ciders. If spirits are more your thing, the famous Gin Bar will make a return for the Saturday and there’ll be live music throughout the weekend.

Music in the Gardens
Botanical Gardens // 5-7 July // From £20

For the past 15 years, the incredible folk behind the Sheffield Rotary Club have been organising one of the best music events on Sheff’s festival calendar – and all in the name of fundraising! This year they are bringing Bananarama and Björn Again to the gardens.
