“Theo’s Chari-tea” is a new tea being launched through a collaboration between Sheffield’s top tea brewer, the Birdhouse Tea Company, and The Children’s Hospital Charity. It’s been developed to help raise money for the charity and warm supporters of the cause.

Named after The Children’s Hospital’s mascot, Theo Bear, the new tea is an English Breakfast tea, flavoured with Assam and Darjeeling and follows the conventions of other Birdhouse specialty loose leaf tea – created by ethically sourced means, with a focus on single origin blends and all developed by hand. The tea will also feature in the 10th anniversary edition of the Birdhouse Tea Company advent calendar.

To honour its launch, charity supporters have been invited to an event tomorrow, November 6, at Birdhouse Tea Bar and Kitchen, giving them a chance to celebrate and network with other like minded supporters.

Both CEO of the Children’s Hospital Charity, John Armstrong and Birdhouse co-owner Rebecca English will attend the event – offering their own perspectives on the collaboration and the value of partnerships like this to the children’s hospital.

40% of every bag of tea sold, alongside £10 from each advent calendar will go toward The Children’s Hospital Charity – helping support their aim of raising £2 million in order to build a new world-class research and technology centre, named the National Centre for Child Health Technology (NCCHT).
