Leopold Square is delighted to be bringing back its popular summer live music weekends and between May and September will be hosting a wide variety of fantastic musicians.

Taking place between 2.30pm and 4.30pm every Saturday and Sunday, the 2019 eclectic lineup features soulful vibes, smooth jazz, swinging classics, and much more from talented local musicians, and some of the best the UK has to offer.

Kicking-off on Saturday 4th May, rising Sheffield star Sophie Henderson will be entertaining visitors with a mix of jazz, soul, blues and pop. Then on Sunday 5th May, Leeds based Jenny Smith will be bringing her mix of jazz and soul, and will be joined by a band of top-notch musicians.

As a launch weekend special, the music continues on bank holiday Monday when Emily West makes a very welcome return; performing jazz, soul and funk classics.

The following weekend, the Washboard Resonators are bringing fresh energy to the sounds of the 1920s on Saturday 11th May, followed by the sparkling jazz vocals of Nicola Farnon on Sunday 12th May.

On Saturday 18th May, Sheffield ‘blues brother’ Jack Harper is making his debut at Leopold Square. Visitors will then be able to get their dancing shoes on when the ever-popular Ryan Taylor Hammond Trio is welcomed on Sunday 19th May.

The final weekend in May sees the Swing Town Cats perform modern covers, old classic and innovative original music on Saturday 25th, and Sheffield resident Samantha Jade bringing her sassy vocals and smooth jazz saxophone on Sunday 26th.

Nick Yates, from Leopold Square, commented: “We’re delighted to bringing back our live music programme again this year and are looking forward to kicking-off with a bank holiday special. Lovers of jazz, soul and swing music are definitely in for a treat.”
