Bodega Social is offering a one-night-only experience filled with wine and Spanish food. Join them on Kelham Island on Saturday 8 June at The Chimney House for an evening that will transport you to the Mediterranean.
The event is in collaboration with Tenaya, who will be providing five wines from Spain for you to try. Tenaya’s wine shop and bar is based in Crookes and focuses on highlighting female producers. Inspired by their time in California, owners Virginia and Sarah have brought the laidback style of bars back from the USA and introduced it to Sheffield.
The night will allow you to not only sample all five wines but to learn about them and their production process. Each ticket includes five 60ml pours of wine, including a Sherried White, Cava, a classic Spanish white, red and rose.
Barbadillo Patinegro is a white wine from Cadíz, which has been aged for a year in Manzanilla casks. As the wine is from a product that has been making Manzanilla Sherry for 200 years, it is sure to satisfy fans of the drink. For those who prefer red wine, the Caminante Tempranillo is a wine full of plum and damson flavours.
The Mowbray will be serving a selection of deli snacks from Brindisa. Brindisa is known for bringing a taste of Spain to their restaurants in London and now to Sheffield too. They have been importing cheese and charcuterie to the UK since 1988.
The selection of cured salami, cheeses, tortillas and much more have been handpicked to match each of the wines on offer.
The venue’s long feasting tables make it the perfect place to socialise with friends and other Sheffield locals.
Tickets are £35 and can be purchased through The Mowbray online shop here.
