Off the Shelf Festival of Words welcomes former Spice Girl, Melanie C, to Sheffield’s Crucible Theatre on Sunday 30 October for the only northern book tour date for her new book, ‘Who I am: My Story’.

Melanie C, aka Sporty Spice, was part of one of the biggest bands in history, whose meteoric rise spread the message of Girl Power worldwide. Join her as she shares her amazing story and what life was really like in The Spice Girls.

She talks about the incredible highs of pop superstardom, but also the downside of fame – manipulation by the media and music industry, the relentless pressure and the struggles she has had with her body image and mental health.

Speaking of the upcoming appearance, Melanie C said: “It’s taken a long time to feel ready to tell my story. The last few years have given me an opportunity to reflect on the incredible career I’ve had and the huge obstacles I’ve managed to overcome. I’ve really enjoyed going back and reminding myself of the wonderful journey life has been so far. I’m very excited to share my experiences with you all.”
