PRECISION AS A STATE OF MIND

The first new exhibition in the Graves Gallery following its six-month programme of refurbishment and redisplay celebrates the work of the acclaimed sculptor Mark Firth. Mind includes 83 new and recent works, including Ten Cubes for Sheffield, a new series made exclusively for the exhibition. The works on display, meticulously crafted in aluminium, showcase Firth’s continual preoccupation with geometry and his exploration of the meeting point between art and engineering.

BEYOND BLOOMSBURY – LIFE, LOVE AND LEGACY

The extraordinary writers, artists and thinkers of the Bloomsbury Group had a profound effect on British art and literature. This major new exhibition, in partnership with York Museums Trust and the National Portrait Gallery, chronicles the lives, loves and work of the group during the first half of the 20th century. As well as celebrating the group’s key figures, including writer and feminist pioneer Virginia Woolf and her sister, painter Vanessa Bell, the displays shine a spotlight on their often overlooked peers and reflect on the group’s place in queer art history.
