Things to do:
Oistins:
By day a sleepy fishing village where you can watch the local fisherman prepare the days catch and even feed the hungry turtles and stingrays with any off cuts if you’re lucky. In the evening the kitchens open serving the freshest seafood you could ask for. Of course Friday nights are the big draw for locals and tourists alike. Think barbeques, rum, reggae and a fantastic friendly atmosphere. A must visit!
St Lawrence Gap:
Known locally as “The Gap” the area boasts a host of fine restaurants, bars, night clubs and rum shacks to suit all budgets. Go early evening to catch the beautiful sunset over the bay and eat and drink until it rises again
Barbados Wildlife Reserve:
Located in a natural mahogany wood across the road from the Farley Hill National Park in the northern parish of St. Peter.
Here you have a unique opportunity to stroll freely through the Reserve watching the animals at close range and in their own natural environment. The animals can be observed as they eat, play and interact with the other animals.
Most of the animals move quietly and it’s easy to miss the gentle deer and even the peacocks if you’re not paying attention. It’s a self-guided tour so there is no need to rush; you can take your time, exploring at your own pace, and re-visiting your favourite animals.
The Barbados Green Monkeys are common and are especially popular at the afternoon feeding time. There are also plenty of deer, tortoise, birds, and reptiles across the grounds.
Calablaza Catamaran Cruises:
A fantastic day of cruising the west coast with excellent food and drink included as well as opportunities to swim with the friendly local turtles and explore shipwrecks are on the cards when you book with Calablaza. The excellent on-board staff are full of fun and incredibly knowledgeable on all things Barbados. If you are lucky, you may also see the legendary flying fish dancing in the wake.
