The Showroom are hosting the premiere for the new live soundtrack to survival film ‘All Is Lost’, by local band Animat.
‘All Is Lost’ is a magnificent, thrilling and frightening film. One you’ll never forget. One man battles for his life, stranded alone on a stricken boat, hundreds of miles from land. And as if you needed another reason to see it, there’s a special showing at The Showroom on March 23rd, with live music by Sheffield’s very own soundtrack masters, Animat.
Robert Redford is the only person in the film, which unsurprisingly has no dialogue, and in an outstanding, unforgettable performance, we follow his increasingly desperate struggles when his yacht becomes badly damaged at the opening of the film. It’s the ideal project for Michael Harding and Mark Daly aka Animat, to add their unique music to, and they’ve naturally chosen Sheffield for the premiere. We’ve been given a sneak preview to their newly scored, atmospheric soundtrack, and the prospect of seeing it along with the film makes the whole event unmissable.
As Fred Pontin never tired of telling us, Book Early.
