A proposal has been submitted to convert the closed Loch Fyne restaurant into a block of 18 apartments.
CODA Planning, in partnership with Primesite UK, have put forward an application to redevelop the Grade II-listed building near the Royal Hallamshire Hospital. Loch Fyne closed for business in February 2018.
The refurbishment of the building would see it transformed into 18 flats, including a mix of one, two and three bedroom flats.
Planners said: “A sensitive approach has been taken with the proposals to ensure that the conversion of the existing building and its extension are done in a sympathetic way which respects and reflects the character of the Grade II-listed building whilst also enhancing its setting.
“Overall the proposals will effectively re-use a strategically important site in a prominent location.”
