The festive season is upon us at last, and Santa has gifted us with a month of queer joy to keep you ho-ho-ho-ing into the new year!

First up, we have Glitterbomb’s high energy sugar-pop cabaret, Jingle Belles and Mistle-Hoes! (14-23 Dec) at Theatre Deli, featuring dancing and drag queens and everyone’s favourite festive hits. If gigs are more your thing, Liars and Jarred Up are back at Sidney & Matilda with An Incredibly Queer Affair (Thu 14 Dec) showcasing an impressive line-up including DearthWorms, Ming City Rockers and Cherry Seraph. All proceeds from the show will be going to LGBT charities or transition funds.

For an alternative celebration of Christmas, check out O’Hooley & Tiddow – WinterFolk (22 Dec), as Belinda and Heidi make a welcome return to Sheffield’s glorious Upper Chapel for an evening of beautifully performed original, contemporary and traditional winter songs – including a selection from their album, WinterFolk, produced with BBC Radio 2 Folk Award winner Ben Walker.

If you can afford to and want to give directly to Sheffield’s LGBTQ+ youth, check out SAYiT’s young people’s wish list on their social media (@sayitsheffield) and add an extra gift to your basket when doing your Christmas shopping. SAYiT will also be co-hosting the Sheffield LGBTQ+ Multi Agency Network (6 Dec), bringing together groups and organisations representing and working with members of Sheffield’s LGBTQ+ communities.

The Funky Beavers are back at the OEC for their Comedy Drag Show (17 Dec) – a night filled with fun and laughter, turkey sarnies, a live drag show, DJ set and games with unforgettable prizes! Funky Beaver, Vivian Twist will also be joining forces with Emma Maezin for A Maezin Christmas (9 Dec) at the Yorkshireman, also featuring Ditzy O’Darlin and A Drag Queen Christmas (15 Dec) at the Rose & Crown. There’s more drag at Malin Bridge Inn with their fun and fabulous Christmas Drag Queen Bingo (29 Dec) with your host Marie La Rae and music maker Sassy DJ Brooke.
