An all-new, free entry, multi-venue festival featuring some of the best live music, spoken word, comedy and dance from across the region is heading to Woodseats this March.

Woodseats Live takes place on Saturday 4 March and boasts over 90 artists, across nine venues, over nine hours.

Venues from across the area already involved include pubs and bars; The Boston Arms, Bulldog Value Bar, The Big Tree, The Chantrey Arms, Guzzle, The Abbey; along with new food hall The Herd; coffee shop The Chantrey Press and even a shoe shop, Glistening Kicks!

If the event proves successful, organisers already have ambitious plans to recreate the festival in other areas of the city. Organiser Ciaron Elm explained: “We’re really keen to help add to the already fabulous community spirit within Sheffield’s local areas, beginning with Woodseats, before launching similar events in Heeley, Meersbrook, London Road, Abbeydale and more.

“The end goal is to unite all of those events on one day and try to recreate and recapture some of the amazing community spirit and buzz that the original Tramlines format first created, before it blossomed and grew into what it is now.

“With thanks to our Sheffield-based sponsors; Turner Guitars, Finale Guitar Shop and Finale Music School – alongside the support and camaraderie of the Woodseats venues – we’ve managed to create a fantastic and exciting programme of free and accessible entertainment for everyone in the local community and beyond.

“We’re running this totally without recompense, just wanting to start something big and beautiful that can provide a cultural legacy for Sheffield’s local communities.”
