APG Works Gallery presents ‘Up There’, a new exhibition showcasing their recent collaborations with a diverse group of over 15 local artists, from 7-22 July.
Each artist will create a screen print design, reflecting their wide variety of backgrounds such as photography, graphics and textile design. For Rupert Wood, APG’s owner, “this will be an exciting and innovative exhibition that will pull together a group of artists that wouldn’t usually exhibit together.” Meanwhile, the diversity of each artist’s unique approach to the task promises to add an intriguing edge to the exhibition.
APG Works is a specialist picture framer and screen printing company, who have helped to revitalise Sheffield’s Cultural Industries Quarter from their base in a 19th century cutlery factory. The ‘Up There’ exhibition is the latest step in their multi-disciplinary collaborations with innovative artists and galleries from around Yorkshire, and celebration of hand-made work. In the past, they’ve worked with locally-based artists such as Kid Acne and Tom J Newell.
Each of the ‘Up There’ exhibition’s designs will be available from the APG Works studio in a limited edition run of 30.
