The weekend has arrived and you’ve made no plans? Fear not. We’ve been busy sifting through events to find the hottest picks for this August weekend so you don’t have to. From BBQs to Lego bricks and bottomless brunches we’ve got yer covered. 


Collect Annual BBQ
The Beer Engine // 11 Aug
The free BBQ event returns for its fourth year, run by the Collect Collective. Expect some acid house and 4×4, special guests and of course the finest barbecued scran. The weather *fingers crossed* should just about hold out for it!


South Yorkshire Festival
Wortley Hall // 12 Aug
The annual family event returns with free entry at the stunning stately house and gardens of Wortley Hall. There’ll be plenty of stalls to browse, a covered bar area, BBQ, bouncy castles and activities for the young’uns and live music to keep the summer vibes alive.

The Harley // 11 Aug
The Pretty Pretty Good crew have put on another stellar late-night lineup for this August weekend. Yak will be bringing the beats, and Triple Point, Kudan, and more will be joining. Tickets are £5 on the door.


Sheffield Bricktropolis
City Centre // 10-12 Aug
Landing last weekend, the Bricktropolis is a must-visit for lovers of all things Lego. Featuring Lego monuments, building zones and competitions to speed build cars, towers and robots, this Lego utopia will be around until the 17th August so this is the last weekend to get down.

Bottomless Brunch
Picture House Social // 11-12 Aug
The delicious deal continues this weekend. Get down to Picture House Social between 12pm-4pm for your choice of Pizza and Cicchetti with bottomless drinks. House lager, prosecco and soft drinks are all included in the £20 bottomless brunch and if you book for five people a sixth can go free. Tasteh.


Bakewell Summer Show
Bakewell Showground // 10-12 Aug
If you don’t mind taking a short trip out into the Peaks, the ever-picturesque town of Bakewell will be hosting this family-friendly festival. Making the most of what remains of the British summer, this £3 entry show will feature donkey rides, paintball and on-site catering. Here’s hoping the sun will also be making an appearance.
