For the Adults

Beardyman –Live at the O2

The O2 Arena

Price: from £13

Beardyman is a London musician known for his extraordinary beatboxing and use of live loops. Although many would doubt that beatboxing can be the centre of an entire musical performance, rather than just an interlude, Beardyman is a mad genius who uses vocoders, synths and whatever else he fancies to create complex tracks based around his vocals. The result is unlike anything that anybody else is doing in the music scene. Come with low expectation sand prepare to be blown away.

Last Laugh Comedy Club

Sheffield City Hall and Memorial Hall 8pm (Doors 7pm)

Price: £11.00 – £15.40

Yorkshire’s longest running comedy club attracts some of the most talented comedians from across the UK.  This bank holiday you can expect to see Toby Foster (Phoenix nights), Paul Pirie, Stacy Silcox and Steve Royle. This is a great idea for a night out if you just want a pint and a good laugh.

Drop

Corporation 9pm-4am (Last entry 2:30am)

Price: £5.00

For those who like to go clubbing on a Friday night.  This recommendation is worlds away from the others mentioned here.  A long-time staple of Sheffield’s Friday club scene, Corp is a great place to ply yourself with cheap booze and rave until 3:00 in the morning. This event boasts rock, drum and bass and underground riffs for you to cut loose to. This is a great night out for students, but don’t dive in the mosh pit unless you’re willing to get pushed around!
