A grade II-listed pub dating back to 1752, is set to be refurbished and reopened, alongside new ‘little mester’ workshops according to plans submitted to Sheffield city council.
ABA Architecture & Interiors has submitted a full planning and listed building application for work on the Farfield Inn, Neepsend. Details in the application, specifically from the noise assessment report, reveal that the Farfield Inn’s ground floor will be renovated into a new public house, with new first and second floor accommodation and external workshops for artisand craftspeople.
A design and access statement submitted as part of the application said: “The proposed works, will provide the significant changes required to provide a sustainable business, that will ensure the longevity and upkeep of this historic building.”
A feature of these plans is to have a serving hatch, as the plans describe. “A full new/ reclaimed bar servery is to be installed within the central hallway area. The servery is to be visible from all rooms with the larger service counters facing the Tap Room and Front Parlour.”
