It seems July is a busy month for cycling in Sheffield with 3 events coming up to get people involved in the sport. It seems the success of the Tour De Yorkshire and the launch of ofo bikes, has spurred Sheffielders on to incorporate cycling into their daily lives.
HSBC Let’s Ride Sheffield: Bringing Cycling To All
Sunday 15th July will see the streets of Sheffield closed off to allow people of all ages to cycle safely through the city. The route, departing from Endcliffe Park, will end in the city centre, which will be adorned with giveaways and local performers to make it a fun family day out.
If you fancy getting involved, you can register via the British Cycling Website.
Steel Valley Ride: Cycling Not For The Faint Hearted
The Steel Valley Race is a Mountain Bike Challenge through the Dark Peak, on the outskirts of Sheffield. Back by popular demand for the 3rd year on 14th July. Just £20 gains you entry for the 31 mile challenge, which will push participants to the limit with 3,500 ft of climbing.

Urban CX is returning to Sheffield after the success of it’s last event, this time utilising Europe’s largest listed building, Park Hill Flats, as the arena for a series of races.
Race organiser Adam Simmonite says the grass roots racing event is a great way “to get riders of all ages inspired”.
The event will welcome riders aged 6+ for a festival of racing, refreshments and street food. It’s set to be a great day both for riders and spectators.
