For those not acquainted with the phenomenon of orchestral Dr. Dre arrangements visiting venues across the country, this headline might warrant a second read. To explain it simply: a full orchestra will perform Dr Dre’s second solo studio album ‘2001’ in Sheffield.
The venue and date information has yet to be released, but the Facebook event is already racking up serious interest.
“The Orchestral Arrangement Group are pleased to present a LIVE 16-piece orchestral rendition of:
Dr. Dre’s second solo studio album: 2001.
This album featured numerous notable collaborators, including Snoop Dogg, Kurupt, Xzibit, Nate Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige as well as co-production between Dre and new Aftermath producer Mel-Man.
2001 helped immortalise Dr. Dre and create his legacy as one of the most influential American rappers and producers of all time.
This body of work features so many intricate musical layers, we have brought in one of the UK’s leading Orchestras to perform a complete rendition of the album and some of Dre’s west coast classics from start to finish.
We’re extremely excited to bring this production to Sheffield.”
