Rockin the Bowl Festival is returning to the Don Valley Bowl this September for three days of open air headbanging from 10 – 12 September 2021.
This year’s weekend event will showcase the future of hard, heavy and classic rock with a line-up of the best emerging rock talent in the UK and beyond, including more than 25 artists and bands.
The opening festival headliner this year is West Sussex rock band Cats in Space, while headlining the main stage on Saturday will be German metal queen Doro.
To see the festival out on the Sunday main stage, Massive Wagons, a Lancaster-based rock band, will be bringing their brand of British Rock ‘n’ Roll to the stage. The full festival line up can be viewed on festival’s website.
In 1993, Def Leppard, Thunder, Ugly Kid Joe and Terrovision played to over 40,000 people at the now demolished Don Valley Stadium. Looking to bring back some of that iconic rock ‘n’ roll feel back to the Steel City, organisers thought Don Valley Bowl seemed the perfect outdoor arena to premiere the return of open air rock concerts.
This year the festival is working with partners such as Fender guitars and Cloven Hoof rum.
