Kelham Island’s ever-popular street food weekender Peddler Market is blowing out 11 candles this weekend – and they’re marking the milestone with ‘one hell of a party.‘
Taking over their home turf at Peddler Warehouse on Friday 3 October and Saturday 4 October, the 98th edition of the market promises award-winning food, live music, craft beer and plenty of birthday sparkle.
Food fans are in for a treat with an exclusive Birthday Special from Richie’s Shrimps Wings & Tings: a platter for two stacked with half a deep-fried lobster tail, buttermilk fried king prawns, calamari, crab croquettes and crispy chicken wings, plus fries, slaw and sauces. Pre-orders are available only through the Peddler mailing list.
They’ll be joined by a stacked line-up of traders including Big Mouth Gyoza, Yoi Fried Chicken, Kebab Cartel, El Contador, Get Wurst, Bamboo Street Food, Bina’s Kitchen and Cow Boys Burgers & Desserts.
To wash it all down, London’s craft pioneers The Kernel Brewery are heading up for a weekend-long tap takeover – pouring some of their classics alongside their very first New England IPA. On Friday every pint of Kernel beer comes with a spin on the prize wheel, with goodies ranging from tickets to Neepsend Craft Beer Festival to other exclusive treats.
Saturday brings family fun with free face-painting from TikTok favourite Donna’s Facepainting, plus some sparkle for the grown-ups as Iced By Bee sets up a tooth gem pop-up. Local makers like Twisted Sister, Coco Cooper, A Village Mind and Field Tested will also be trading across the weekend, alongside live music from WaterBear, Midnight Creatures and Kitchen Radio.
