Last month we revealed that the former home of Rockingham Street venue and gig space Soyo was set to reopen as a brand new 500 capacity late bar and club, called DUO.
The team behind the sadly departed Code nightclub, as well as West Street bars Molly Malone’s and Mr Wilson’s have now revealed their newest space will officially open its doors on 30 November, bringing with it the existing events, staff and DJs from Code.
Set within a former school building dating back to the late 1800s, the venue has been a popular city-centre bar since 2009 and the unique space has now been revived to offer ‘two rooms of music, bespoke decor and luxury seating areas.’
The new venue also boasts, ‘world class sound and light, coupled with an incredible range of drinks from all four corners of the globe.’
The bar is set to open on Wednesday to Saturday, with Wednesday’s catering for students, offering all double spirits for just £2. There will also be two rooms of student anthems plus free drinks giveaways.
Thursdays make way for the infamous ‘Wonderland’, (which used to be at Code on Tuesdays) and offers 90p drinks, while Fridays and Saturdays will be about ‘shameless glamour in the newest spot in the city’. According to owners the main room delivers ‘all things urban while room two mashes up weekend party vibes ’til 4am.’
And, given that money is tight right now, they’re keeping drinks prices as low as possible with all doubles setting you back just 3 quid.
