Treat your long-suffering mother to something a bit different this weekend in Sheff.

ATKINSONS
Sheff’s long-standing department store (long as in, 147 years long!) has plenty to offer for the young, the old and everyone in between. Head over to its Facebook page for a glimpse into what it can offer.

FOOD HALL
Sheffield has finally caught up with the continental trend of food halls, and we bet your last quid that yer ma hasn’t seen one before. Take your pick from the recently opened Kommune in Castlegate or Kelham Island’s Cutlery Works.

PHLEGM
Fans from around the world flocked to Sheffield
for the opening of Phlegm’s Mausoleum of Giants exhibition at Eyewitness Works. It’s a stunning display, and one we think your ma can’t miss out on. Check out our Insta gallery for a sneak peek…

NICE NEIGHBOURHOOD
One of Exposed’s favourite lunch spots,
Nice Neighbourhood recently popped up on Glossop Road. So if you’re milling around the city centre and can’t decide on a place to eat, we highly recommend stopping here for the quirky menu, hospitable atmosphere and cocktail menu.

A SPOT OF CULTURE
There are two incredible exhibitions on at Museums Sheffield at the moment. Who We Are, showing at Weston Park Museum until 14 April, is a photo exhibition using a collection of Martin Jenkinson’s powerful snaps from the 1980s which encapsulated the life of the working class. At the Millenium Gallery, 12 incredible Leonardo da Vinci drawings are on display until May.

People queuing to apply for jobs at Woodstock Diner in Sheffield, 1983. 50 jobs were available, 1,500 applied.

BURGER JOINT
Sheffield’s newest burger restaurant Smokin’ Bull is a great shout for Mother’s Day if all you wanna do is get stuck into a tasty burger, play retro arcade games and top off your day with a delicious dessert.
