Sheffield Food Festival: Eats Treats & Beats

O2 Academy Sheffield and the Big Wow are excited to partner with Sheffield Food Festival this year for what is gearing up to be another fantastic event. This year, we’re bringing a great line-up of local artists to the Eats, Treats & Beats area with the help of our wonderful sponsors Stancil Brewery, Locksley Brewery and Smoke BBQ. We hope that visitors find time to enjoy the music while they sample the huge selection of delicious food on offer!

Friday
Quality Control are taking over the daytime and early evening as a warm-up for their show with KRS One down at the O2 Academy in the evening.

Main Event

1PM-7PM – Quality Control DJ Andy H

Having honed his skills in the world of turntablism, Andy H applies his unique style of DJing to dancefloor bass-music while still remaining true to his hip-hop roots. As a UK DMC and Red Bull 3Style finalist, he champions the art of real DJing and channels that energy into every performance, kick starting any dancefloor. Sheffield’s own Toddla T described him as “one of the most underrated DJs in the UK, no word of a lie. He’s the kind of DJ you don’t want to go on after”.

5:30PM – Franz Von

High energy hip-hop afro-fusionist Franz Von retains his love for classic hip-hop and his rooting in African music to showcase his lyricism and animated performances. The lead emcee of K.O.G and the Zongo Brigade has quickly become a festival staple having played multiple stages at Glastonbury.

Other Acts

Indie singer-songwriter and guitarist based in Sheffield.

8PM – Just Alfie
Inspired by the lyrical genius and soul-filled voices of Nina Simone, Marvin Gaye, John Mayer, Freddie Mercury, Alfie has come a long way since busking on the streets of Sheffield…
