The Wytches headline Stand For Something
This year’s Dr Martens Stand For Something Tour is coming to Corporation on Saturday night, headlined by Brighton-based psychedelic rockers The Wytches and supported by Demob Happy.
The Wytches have been creating waves in the rock scene with what they describe as “surf-doom” sound. Known for their thrilling live shows and a very successful set at Sheffield’s Tramlines festival, when asked what they stood for they explained: “Our band shares a similar message to the ’80s teen film The Breakfast Club: five high school students – all different stereotypes – meet in detention, where they pour their hearts out to each other and discover how they have a lot more in common than they thought.”
The U.K tour, which has been hitting a number of cities since September, has unravelled from the larger Stand For Something campaign, seeking to celebrate the role Dr Martens has had in British culture and in particular the brand’s long established link with music.
