Sheffield United parade will take place on 7th May

Dem Blades!

Sheffield city council and Sheffield United have announced a promotion parade through the city centre on Tuesday 9 May, along with a civic reception at the Town Hall.

The Blades sealed their promotion to the Premier League last weekend after a 2-0 home victory, drawing mass celebrations across the city. London Road and Ecclesall Road in particular, being blocked off due to the raucous celebrations. United could yet win the league this weekend if Norwich lose away to Aston Villa and the Blades win away at Stoke.

It will be the first time since 2007 that the Blades will be playing against the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea. With some of Europe’s biggest teams set to be welcomed to the city next season, it’s a great thing for the city…There you go Wednesday-ites, that’s your party line!

More details to be announced in the coming days.
