Sheffield SOUPer Social Launch
Since their launch in late July 2015, Sheffield SOUP have endeavoured to change the community for the better. The five events that have been run so far have led to funding for local projects The Real Junk Food Project: Sheffield, Under the Stars, The Suit Works, HillsFest 2016 and Sheffield Hardware Hackers and Makers.
The SOUPer Social offers up something slightly different; the chance to discuss and generate new ideas, whilst encouraging those with ideas to develop the confidence to pitch them at the next SOUP event.
As well as the potential for monetary investment, the events also provide a platform for local independent firms and start-ups to network with like-minded companies, all coming together to make a positive change to the city.
Entry costs a minimum of just a fiver, and includes entertainment from the resident band, ‘real’ soup provided by Silversmith’s Restaurant, and the chance of added goodies from ‘bribers’ who will be appearing at the next pitch event. All donations are added to the pot for the next event, meaning the funding opportunity for the next winner is even greater. Additionally, there’s the chance to catch up with previous winners, and meet the judging panel, so it’s a great opportunity for those looking to fund a new social enterprise!
