Popular Sharrowvale Road restaurant take over cafe and bakery
The owners of TONCO restaurant, which is nestled in Sharrow Vale Road’s independent courtyard Dyson Place, have recently taken over the running of the nearby Seven Hills Bakery.
The café and bakery has been re-branded by the wonderful Sheffield artist Zoe Genders, and for the time being is operating much the same as it ever was, kicking out quality bread and bakes and coffees, but expect TONCO to add their own spin to proceedings as they find their feet.
Like TONCO, Seven Hills Bakery had been owner-operated and independent for over ten years, before changing hands to the lovely folk at TONCO earlier this month.
TONCO arrived in Dyson Place at the back-end of 2019, and expectations were already extremely high, following a string of successful pop-ups in Abbeydale Road’s Barrowboy.
Thankfully, right from the very outset they didn’t disappoint (it was never really in doubt, was it?) and their regularly changing menu, reflecting seasonality, has been a massive hit with Dyson Place diners.
Being the first to open in the courtyard, owners Flo Hiller and Joe Shrewsbury have had the privilege of watching the square come to life, while simultaneously enjoying their own success. Flo told Exposed: “Business has been really good. We were the first to open so it’s been really nice to watch all the other places open up and it become a really buzzy, well-received area.”
Their new bakery looks set to make the wider Sharrowvale Road area an even more exciting proposition and we can’t wait to see what they do with the place.
