New Project-41

New installations added on Park Hill sculpture plinths

Urban Splash and Places for People have collaborated with Create Partnerships to install new urban street furniture and play pieces at Park Hill. Installed on the sculpture plinths in the landscaped area of Phase 1 they provide additional seating for the residents, local community and visitors, with some animal sculptures that children are welcome to clamber over.

Designed by Stéphane Chapelet, ZADIG is a street furniture steel bench aimed to provide a spot for conversation and respite.

Create Partnerships is a Sheffield based independent collective that is owned by local entrepreneur Paul Collings and provides play areas, street furniture, street lighting, sports facilities and early years outdoor learning settings for the public realm.

The installations will remain in place and maybe changed from time to time, replaced with other inspiring street furniture – watch this space!

Greg Ball on behalf of the joint venture said: “The sculpture plinths are versatile outdoor exhibition spaces and we are really pleased that our first use of them is with Create Partnerships. We are known for our support for the arts and we recognise that art plays an integral part in creating environments that build communities. In the few days since these pieces have appeared on the plinths it has been great to see them being so well used and the Richter snail and bear are a magnet for young children as well as providing another play area for those who attend the nursery.”

Richter Spielgerate’s friendly snail has been a hit with the youngsters
